From 3–5 March 2026, the Master Non Linear Narrative in The Hague hosted the second Teacher Training Event of the Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership Climate Truth Crisis. As part of the programme, the Dutch team organised not only a comprehensive symposium on climate change and digital democracy, but also a field trip to the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) in De Bilt.
The visit to KNMI offered participants a unique behind-the-scenes perspective on the Dutch weather forecasting service, as well as an exceptional opportunity to discuss the challenges of contemporary climate change communication directly with experts from various scientific disciplines. The on-site programme included a guided tour of the institute, beginning with an introduction to its history and an elaborate demonstration of the operational activities of the weather room. Later in the day, participants were shown the outdoor measuring instruments and presented with strategies for translating complex climate data into accessible visual narratives. The visit concluded with an in-depth conversation on fostering hope and resilience in climate change education.
