The Climate Truth Crisis Training Activity held in Barcelona from 4–8 May 2026 gathered students and teachers in an interdisciplinary programme exploring intersections between technology, data, ecology, and climate justice. Through lectures, workshops field experiences, participants examined how knowledge is constructed, manipulated, and contested in digital and environmentally stressed societies.

The programme began with data literacy and misinformation, highlighting how selective framing, AI systems, and persuasive media shape public narratives, and how trust can be easily influenced. The second day investigated hidden digital infrastructures, linking everyday technologies to material networks such as fibre optics, logistics, and extraction, including a city walk revealing their physical presence. Later, participants explored the Llobregat Delta, reflecting on ecological fragility, biodiversity, and competing land uses. Sessions on climate disinformation addressed emotional fatigue and polarisation, proposing more engaging forms of communication. The activity concluded with justice discussions and design exercises, encouraging critical responses to misinformation, greenwashing, and political inaction.
